The One About Chicago (Pre-Visit)…

So I’m heading to Chicago this weekend for the ACUI 2011 Annual Conference and I could not be more excited! I’ve never been to Chicago before but there are a lot of things that I would love to see/experience while I’m there.

First, I NEED a Chicago dog!! They look absolutely fabulous and I’m drooling right now thinking of one.

What’s not to love….all beef hot dog, huge slices of tomato, big juicy pickle, beautiful diced onions, relish, mustard and…my favorite…ketchup! I know you’re not really allowed to use ketchup on them but I put ketchup on literally everything so…that’s happening.

Second, I would love to see Wrigley Field. I passed by it once on a roadtrip across the country but we couldn’t stop to see anything in Chicago. Even if I can’t go inside, I’d still love to just see it and feel some of the history of the spot.

Third, me and my man LOVE the show, “Best Thing I Ever Ate” so we’d love to try out a few of those places while we’re out there! We have a few options so let’s see what we can accomplish!

I have read many reviews & blogs that say you must experience the following two places for good, Chicago pizza and dessert… Gino’s East & Molly’s Cupcakes. Pizza and cupcakes…my two absolute favorite things in the world…CAN’T WAIT!

 

As you can see, a lot of my focus is on food but, due to the time of year, it limits our ability to do the more touristy tours. I’d love to go back and do the cruise around the shore that shows you all of the architectural beauty of Chicago, walk around all day and just find little hole in the wall shops/eateries to spend some time in, etc.

I’m hoping we’ll get to visit/eat at/experience a little bit of everything this next week so if you have any suggestions, please feel free to drop a line and let me know!
